Your Story Matters

Written by Mary Pero

Dear Aspiring/Struggling/Hurting Author,

I want you to know that you matter. Your story matters.

Your story is not just a published book, although I hope that one day it becomes one. I hope one day it soars higher and flies farther than you ever dreamed possible. But in the meantime, while you’re waiting and wondering when that day will come, I want you to know that you matter. Your story still matters.

Your story is not just in the words or how well you write, although I hope you learn to find your voice or at least make peace with letting someone write it for you. I hope you come to find some satisfaction in the (often arduous) process of writing. But until you do, while you’re worrying if your writing is good enough or your idea strong enough, I want you to know that you matter. Your story still matters.

Your story is not defined by how others receive it, although I hope the world loves and embraces you. I hope you find freedom and courage as you dare to show your truest self. But as you sit in the dark with fret and fear, I want you to know that you matter. Your story still matters.

I created this place to help you tell your story. Whether you’re looking for writing advice, motivation, hope, encouragement, or accountability—you’ll find it all here. Welcome dear author. You matter. It’s time to tell your story.
